Releasy is a local-first desktop app with a small set of cloud services (account sign-in and translation). This page explains what we collect, what we don’t, and how we handle your store credentials.

What we collect

  • Account identity: when you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and a stable user identifier (subject), used to create your account and tie it to your plan and usage. Apple sign-in may return a private relay email.
  • Translation content & usage: when you use server translation, the text you submit is sent to our backend and forwarded to our translation provider (DeepL) to produce translations. We meter usage (characters × target languages) and may cache results by a content fingerprint to reduce cost and latency.
  • Subscription (once Pro launches): payments are handled by Stripe; our server only stores your email and subscription status — never full card details.
  • Anonymous site analytics (if Plausible is enabled): aggregate page metrics only, no personal identifiers.

What we don’t collect / never upload

  • The metadata, descriptions, keywords, screenshots and build artifacts you edit in the desktop app — these stay on your machine and go directly to Apple / Google only when you choose to upload, not through us (except the text you explicitly submit for server translation).
  • Your Google / Apple store credentials (Service Account JSON, App Store Connect .p8 key, Issuer ID / Key ID) — encrypted on-device by the OS secure storage (safeStorage) and never uploaded to our servers.
  • Your login tokens are likewise stored encrypted on-device.

Third parties

  • Apple, Google: sign-in, plus the store publishing APIs you authorize.
  • DeepL: server translation (receives the text you submit).
  • Stripe (future): subscription payments.
  • Plausible (if enabled): privacy-friendly website analytics.

Each third party has its own privacy policy for the data it processes.

Retention & your rights

  • Account data is retained until you delete your account; translation cache may persist to serve future requests.
  • You can request access, correction or deletion of your account data by email.

Security

Credentials and tokens are encrypted on-device; backend traffic uses HTTPS; we don’t log passwords, tokens or plaintext keys.
